This role merges the responsibilities of a Field Operations Technician Level 2 and a Central Office Technician, focusing on the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunications platforms and infrastructure. The technician will work both in field environments and central office settings, supporting voice, data, and video transmission systems.

Requisitos del Puesto

Install, configure, and maintain telecom equipment including switches, routers, multiplexers, and digital cross-connect systems.

- Perform infrastructure installation and de-installation (racks, ladder racks, subfloor infrastructure).

- Manage cable systems including fiber, copper, coaxial, and DC power.

- Terminate, clean, and test cables (Fiber Optic, RJ45, Coaxial/BNC).

- Grounding of equipment and HTAP.

- Provisioning of equipment (Ciena/Nortel 6500, Waveserver, IP Routers/Switches).

- Perform diagnostics and testing using OTDR, BER testers, spectrum analyzers, and sniffers.

- Monitor network performance and respond to alarms or outages.

- Maintain and repair power systems including batteries, rectifiers, and generators.

- Document installations, maintenance, and repairs using Microsoft Office tools (DSRs, SCRs, redlining, survey reports).

- Coordinate with field technicians, engineers, and vendors for upgrades or repairs.

- Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and equipment.

Experiencia Deseada

- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in electronics or telecommunications preferred.

- Minimum 1.5–2 years of experience in telecom/electronics or central office technical roles.

- Strong understanding of WDM, SONET, Ethernet, SDH, and fiber optics.

- Familiarity with test equipment such as OTDRs, spectrum analyzers, multimeters.

- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Fluent in English/Spanish.

- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

- Willingness to travel 90% and work on-call shifts, weekends, or holidays.
